BOOK INFORMATION:

Informative reading for anyone interested in learning more about our amazing continent, this would also be an ideal guide for overseas tourists, grey nomads, and anyone else travelling our amazing country. The places listed are not in the usual travel brochures and are not to be missed.

SYNOPSIS: Wild Extremes is here to uncover Australia's geographical records: like where is the longest beach, the deepest lakes, the oldest rocks and the hottest springs. This isn't a book of endless records but rather tells the backstory to Australia's geographic records. It explores the controversies around records and looks at how plants and animals have adapted to places of extreme.

This is a unique story of the continent and islands of Australia. It scrutinises this nation through the lens of its geographic records. It explores Australia's deserts, beaches, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, aquifers and lakes. But have you also wondered about Australian glaciers, or volcanoes? Where are the largest and oldest meteorite craters? What were the largest earthquakes? Where are the largest waves and why are marine megafauna attracted to submarine canyons that incise Australia's continental shelf?

These questions and more are answered when we examine Australia's Wild Extremes.

Review Glee Books Sydney:

'Gentle but excited cuddles for these gorgeous sisters who dropped in to sign copies of their wonderful picture book, A Rabbit’s Tale.

This is a really lovely tale of Ralfie, who, feeling overwhelmed by everything decides to run away. On his journey, he meets a cast of very helpful characters who show him 3 mini mindfulness techniques to calm his nerves, harness awareness and choose empowering thoughts.

It is an adventurous story full of practical tools to help remind kids (and adults) how to be more present and how to approach those nasty, negative thoughts… but not in a cheesy, preachy way (kids are your toughest audience and run a mile if they know they are being taught a lesson)

Sally de Gruchy has a background in psychology and primary teaching, is a mum to 2 kids and is passionate about sharing her skills to empower kids to look after their minds. Her sister Kat Buchanan, who did the gorgeous illustrations is also an architect and designer who is inspired by the natural world.

We found this book really helpful in reinforcing some simple strategies to deal with the anxiety and panic that has crept into our household over the last couple of years.

Thanks Sally, Kat (and Ralfie) for reminding us to breathe, focus our minds and sing!

Signed copies of A Rabbit’s Tale available in store.'
