"It’s a good thing I’m such a James Bond fan because The Case of the Missing Moggies sure has the Bond feel about it with its list of weasel villains and cat heroes, but a children’s version.
It has all the spy gadgets and the fancy car that gets the hero Ah-Fur and his cousin Show-Fur out of dangers and back again to their fancy hotel with bowls of fresh cold milk to enjoy. This story has all the fun and adventure a young reader could hope for.
Author, Debra Clewer, ties all the plot skeins together like a masterful sleuth herself. She has created a superb tale of cat-napping with her hero searching for clues, discarding red herrings to discover the truth behind the wicked weasels’ plans to rid the world of cats. I could almost hear the iconic Bond music in the background…
This book definitely has a cat lover’s flavour in mind and is an enjoyable read if you like unravelling crimes. Children aged 7 and over who love stories about cats and mysteries will certainly enjoy this offering. And perhaps, as with the Bond tales, there might be more crime adventures in the future. One can only hope.
